Essential Fall Skincare Tips

Taking good care of your skin in the fall is important because the change in weather can lead to various skin issues like dryness, sensitivity, and breakouts. Here are some essential fall skincare tips to keep your skin healthy and glowing:

Hydrate

Cooler, drier air can lead to dehydrated skin. Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out.

Moisturize

Switch to a thicker, more hydrating moisturizer to combat dryness. Consider using a facial oil or cream to lock in moisture.

Sunscreen

Don't forget to wear sunscreen even in the fall. UV rays can still damage your skin, even on cloudy days. I love this Daily Sheer Defense for everyday use. It is not greasy, rubs in clear, and great for all skin types even oily or acne prone. Bonus it is zinc based and uses non nano zinc.

Exfoliate

As the weather changes, your skin may become dull and flaky. Exfoliate regularly, but don't overdo it. 1-2 times a week is usually enough to remove dead skin cells. Made up of only two ingredients the bamboo polish is a great way to sprinkle into your current cleanser to make it an exfoliator.

Humidifier

Adding moisture to the air in your home can help combat the drying effects of indoor heating systems.

Lip Care

Lips are often the first to show signs of dryness. Use a good lip balm to keep them soft and hydrated. I do love the tinted LIP BALM from Beautycounter for a little color but for everyday for everyone I made a list below.

Avoid Hot Showers

Hot water can strip your skin of natural oils. Opt for warm showers and limit their duration.

Gentle Cleansing

Consider using a gentle, hydrating cleanser to avoid over-drying your skin. This luxurious, lightweight cleansing oil gently yet effectively removes makeup and impurities without stripping essential lipids from the skin. Rich in vitamin E, fatty acids, and our plant-derived Retinatural™ Complex, the formula reinforces the skin’s fragile moisture barrier for a soothed, nourished complexion. Bonus it also lasts at least 6 months! MY favorite nighttime cleanser.

Nutrition

Incorporate foods rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants, like fruits, vegetables, and omega-3 fatty acids, to support healthy skin from the inside.

Protect your Hands

The skin on your hands is thinner and more susceptible to drying out. Wear gloves and use a moisturizing hand cream.

Skincare/Makeup Quiz

Remember that everyone's skin is different, so it's important to adjust your skincare routine based on your skin type and its unique needs. If you need a Fall Skincare Refresh to your Skincare Routine fill out my skincare quiz and I will send you my suggestions based on your needs and budget. Also this is the time to switch to cream makeup products are they are more hydrating and do not sit in fine lines and wrinkles like powder can!
